Kern. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Fred R. Kern that was taken in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, on 25 July 1954. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9801 and three more "EF" Class units whose numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9801 is an EF-15A built in March of 1951. They are about to pass through the Tyrone Passenger Station on their way to Enola and points East.

Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9801 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9801 is an EF-15A built in March of 1951. They're pulling a mixed-cargo freight train around the Curve and up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West.
